  • 500 g ground beef
  • 1 onion (finely diced)
  • 3 tomatoes (sliced)
  • 2 small potatoes (cubed)
  • ¼ cup cooking oil
  • 1 tsp ginger (freshly minced)
  • 1 tsp garlic (freshly minced)
  • 1 black cardamom
  • 4 black peppercorns
  • 3 cloves
  • 1 tsp red chili powder
  • 1 ¼ teaspoon salt
  • 2 teaspoon coriander powder
  • 2 teaspoon cumin powder
  • ½ teaspoon turmeric powder
  • 1 teaspoon garam masala
  • 2 green chilies (sliced)
  • 2 tbsp fresh coriander (chopped)
  • 1 tbsp ginger (sliced)

Instructions

  1. Heat cooking oil in a frying pan over medium heat; sauté onions until golden.
  2. Add whole spices (black cardamom, cloves, black peppercorns); cook for 1 minute.
  3. Mix in tomatoes, ginger, garlic, and spices; cover until tomatoes soften.
  4. Stir-fry until oil separates; add ground beef and water; cover and cook for 15 minutes.
  5. Increase heat to high to dry out moisture; then add cubed potatoes and more water; cover again until tender.
  6. Uncover, sprinkle garam masala, and garnish with fresh coriander before serving.
