  • 1 pound broccoli florets
  • ⅔ cup soy sauce (light sodium)
  • 4 tablespoons granulated sugar
  • 1½ tablespoons garlic (minced)
  • 1½ tablespoons ginger (minced)
  • 2½ tablespoons cornstarch

Instructions

  1. Marinate the sliced chicken breast in water, Shaoxing cooking wine, salt, baking soda, and cornstarch for about 10 minutes.
  2. Prepare the sauce by mixing soy sauce, water, sugar, cornstarch, and sesame oil in a bowl.
  3. Heat oil in a wok over medium-high heat and stir-fry marinated chicken for 5–7 minutes until cooked through.
  4. Push chicken to one side, add minced garlic and ginger to the pan, sauté briefly, then add broccoli and cook together for another 2–3 minutes.
  5. Pour the prepared sauce over the mixture, stir well to combine, and cook for an additional minute until thickened.
