Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1 medium onion, thinly sliced
  • 1 medium green bell pepper, thinly sliced
  • 1 cup mushrooms, sliced (optional)
  • 4 slices provolone cheese (or your preferred cheese)
  • 4 hoagie rolls
  • Olive oil, for cooking

Instructions

  1. In a skillet over medium-high heat, add olive oil. Sauté onions and bell peppers for 3-5 minutes until tender. Add mushrooms if using, cooking for an additional 3 minutes.
  2. Push vegetables aside and brown the ground beef in the skillet for about 5-7 minutes.
  3. Stir in garlic powder, Worcestershire sauce, salt, and pepper; mix well.
  4. Reduce heat to low and place cheese slices on top of the beef mixture. Cover with a lid to melt the cheese (about 2-3 minutes).
  5. Slice hoagie rolls lengthwise without cutting all the way through.
  6. Spoon the beef mixture into each roll and serve hot.
