  • 2 pounds ground beef
  • 1 cup panko bread crumbs
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1 medium yellow onion (diced)
  • 2 cloves garlic (minced)
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • ½ cup ketchup
  • 1 tablespoon brown sugar
  • 1 tablespoon spicy brown mustard

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. In a small bowl, soak the panko bread crumbs in milk.
  3. Sauté diced onion in butter until fragrant; add minced garlic and cool.
  4. In a large bowl, mix ground beef, soaked bread crumbs, egg, Worcestershire sauce, thyme, salt, and sautéed onion and garlic.
  5. Shape mixture into a loaf on the baking sheet and score the top.
  6. Bake for 40 minutes; then spread topping sauce over the meatloaf and bake for an additional 30-35 minutes until cooked through.
