Ingredients
Scale
- 5–6 medium peaches (peeled and chopped)
- 4–5 small jalapeños (seeded and chopped)
- 1 tablespoon lemon zest
- 2 tablespoons lemon juice
- 3 cups granulated sugar
Instructions
- Prepare your ingredients: Peel and pit the peaches, then chop them finely. Wash jalapeños, remove seeds for milder flavor, and chop.
- Cook the mixture: In a large saucepan, combine chopped peaches, jalapeños, lemon zest, and lemon juice. Heat over medium-high heat while stirring until gently boiling.
- Add sugar: Stir in granulated sugar once boiling and keep stirring until fully dissolved. Maintain a rolling boil for about 15-20 minutes until jam-like consistency is reached.
- Test consistency: Dip a metal spoon into the jam; it should coat the back without dripping quickly.
- Jar your jam: Transfer hot jam into sterilized jars, leaving 1/4 inch space at the top. Wipe rims with a damp towel before sealing with lids and letting cool.
