Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 pound lean ground beef
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 3 cloves garlic (minced)
  • 1/3 cup seasoned breadcrumbs
  • 1 medium onion (sliced)
  • 8 ounces cremini mushrooms (sliced)
  • 3 tablespoons flour
  • 1 ¾ cups beef broth
  • Olive oil for frying

Instructions

  1. Combine ground beef, egg, Worcestershire sauce, garlic, breadcrumbs, and seasonings in a bowl. Form into four oval patties.
  2. Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Cook patties for 5–6 minutes per side until browned. Set aside.
  3. Sauté onions and mushrooms in the same skillet until golden brown, about 7–9 minutes.
  4. Make the gravy by adding butter to the skillet, then whisking in flour until smooth. Slowly add beef broth while whisking.
  5. Return patties and sautéed vegetables to the skillet. Simmer for an additional 5–7 minutes until heated through and gravy thickens.
