Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9×5-inch loaf pan.
  2. In a bowl, whisk together flour, baking soda, salt, cinnamon, nutmeg, and cloves.
  3. In a separate bowl, cream softened butter and sugar until light and fluffy. Add eggs one at a time along with vanilla extract.
  4. Gradually mix in the dry ingredients alternately with sour cream until just combined.
  5. Fold in chopped apples and nuts if desired.
  6. Pour the batter into the prepared loaf pan, smoothing the top. Bake for 50–60 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.
