Description

Green seasoning is an essential staple in Trinidad and Tobago kitchens, celebrated for its ability to infuse dishes with vibrant Caribbean flavors. This aromatic herb blend combines fresh ingredients to create a versatile marinade that elevates meats, enhances soups, and adds depth to sauces. With just a few simple steps, you can whip up this homemade green seasoning at home, bringing the rich culinary traditions of Trinidad right to your kitchen. Customize it to suit your taste preferences by adjusting the herbs and spice levels.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 12 Chadon Beni (Culantro) leaves
  • 2 tablespoons Common Thyme leaves & stems
  • 2 whole Green Onions (Scallions)
  • 10 Large Seasoning Peppers
  • 1 Bulb Garlic
  • 1 Small Onion
  • 5070 ml Liquid (Water, Lemon/Lime Juice, or Vinegar)

Instructions

  1. Wash all ingredients thoroughly.
  2. Peel garlic and onion; optionally remove seeds from peppers for less heat.
  3. Roughly chop all ingredients for easier blending.
  4. Combine chopped ingredients in a blender or food processor.
  5. Add your chosen liquid gradually while blending until smooth.
  6. Adjust texture as desired—thicker paste or smoother blend.
  7. Store in clean jars and refrigerate for up to four weeks.
